I received a registration code. What do I do with it?
Thank you for registering Speech Timer. To apply your registration code, complete the following steps:
- Start Speech Timer
- Click on the Register button
- On the following screen, click on the Register button again
- Enter your full name when prompted
- Enter your registration code when prompted.
Now you will be able to use Speech Timer as often as you wish.
I installed Speech Timer. How do I start it?
Speech Timer installs an icon on your desktop. Look for the traffic light icon. You will also find a Speech Timer program group (Start/All Programs/Speech Timer).
What operating systems does Speech Timer run on?
Speech Timer runs on all versions of Windows. We have tested it on Windows XP, 2000, 98, and 95, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. There is a small installation problem on Vista and Windows 7. If you are running Vista or Windows 7, please see the questions below.
Does Speech Timer run on a Mac?
Speech Timer was written to run on Windows. However, you should be able to run Speech Timer by installing it with Wine on a Mac. We do not have access to a Mac machine to test this.
Does Speech Timer run on Windows Vista?
Yes, but the Speech Timer installer will fail on a Windows Vista machine. This is due to differences in the way Vista organizes its desktop compared to older versions of Windows. The files are properly installed, but the program group will not be created.
After you see the installation error, just close the error screen, and then you can start Speech Timer by double-clicking on timespeech in C:\Program Files\Speech Timer. To create a desktop shortcut, simply right-click on timespeech, and then select Create Shortcut and select Desktop.
We will be creating a new installer to correct this issue.
Does Speech Timer run on Windows 7?

What user permissions do I need to install Speech Timer?
You will need administrator rights on your machine to install Speech Timer. If you are installing Speech Timer on a work machine and you don't have administrator rights, simply ask someone with administrator rights to login and install Speech Timer for you, or give you temporary administrator rights. You will not need administrator rights to run Speech Timer. This is only required for the installation.

I have a new computer. Can I reinstall Speech Timer on my new machine and use the same registration code?
Yes, just visit our Download page to install Speech Timer on your new computer. After the installation completes, you can register Speech Timer with your existing registration code.
Can I install Speech Timer on Linux?
Yes, we were able to install and run Speech Timer on my Ubuntu Linux machine after running the installer with Wine. Just download the installer, then right-click on it, and select Open with Wine Windows Program Loader.
How do I remove Speech Timer?
Click on Remove Speech Timer in the Speech Timer program group (Start/All Programs/Speech Timer).
